FALL FAVOURITES

..........

With summer firmly behind us, I thought that now might be a good time to talk about my favourite products I'll be reaching for as we prepare for the bitter, dark nights to roll in. Fall is the sweet spot between the neons and fluorescents of summer and the extravagant glimmers of the festive season. Here are the products I'm going to be reaching for when I'm wrapped up in my cosiest knitwear ready to brave the season ahead.

Charlotte Tilbury's Scent of a Dream

As a recent convert to Scent of a Dream, I have to say that I'm obsessed. Such a well thought out fragrance, with its instant hit of zingy citrus and pepper that evolves into a floral aroma after a little wear. After 9 hours of wear, the pheromone notes are released, said to trigger desire. Everybody notices this, as it's the type of perfume that stands out from the crowd and refuses to blend in. From the intelligence of the scent to the eye-catching design of the bottle, it's a winner for me. It's definitely a 'marmite' product- you'll either love it or you'll hate it. All I'm asking you to do is try it.

Nars' Radiant Creamy Concealer

With the cooler months, my skin takes a beating. I don't know about you, but I'll take hydration wherever I can get it! Having recently switched over from their Soft Matte Complete Concealer, I am seeing a difference in the longevity of my makeup and how I look at the end of a long day (spoiler: it wasn't pretty). I was a little sceptical at first as I'm the classic example of combination-oily skin, with most creamy concealers slipping halfway down my face no matter how much powder and primer I wore. Thankfully, my makeup mishaps are a thing of the past. At least, where my concealer is concerned.

Anastasia Beverly Hills' Subculture

I know, don't hate me. There's something about this palette. I will admit, the struggle is real the first time you use this. You'll want to rethink every bad decision that led you to this point. You'll probably doubt your makeup skills- I know I did. However. With a little bit of practise and a hell of a lot more patience, you'll come to love this palette. Whether it's the drool-worthy jewel tones, the opacity and density of the formula or you're just a die-hard ABH lover, you need this. Like, now.

MAC's Extra Dimension Skinfinish in Beaming Blush

In keeping with the colour palette I've accidentally-on-purpose fallen for, I've chosen Beaming Blush as my fall favourite illuminator. I love the formula of the Extra Dimension highlighters, but the iridescent gold-pink shift of this one has a special place in my heart. If your ride-or-die is Soft and Gentle (we've all been there), pick this up for a homely refresh on an old favourite.

Lime Crime's Velvetine in Saint

Being a busy bee often means I don't have the time to top up my lip through the day. I'm always on the hunt for something which is easy to wear and low maintenance. I've found most, if not all, of Lime Crime's Velvetines to be comfortable, wearable and long lasting. Saint is the perfect colour for fall, with a deep rusty crimson tone which complements almost any warm colour palette.

Illamasqua's Pure Pigment in Ore

(£17.50, Illamasqua.com)

Being a total makeup magpie, I couldn't have picked out my fall favourites without including a little bit of shimmer and sparkle. Before I jump into my seemingly endless wardrobe of glitters for the festive season (I firmly believe it's a crime not to look like a disco ball when celebrating the New Year), I'll be reaching for Ore. A wonderfully sparkly bronze with a gold shift, you can go minimal and wear this alone for a sheer wash of pigment or layer it onto your smoky eye for eye-catching bling. I love all of the Illamasqua pigments, but this is my must-have fall shade.

I'd love to know which products will be your ride-or-die favourites for the season ahead! Go ahead and leave a little love for your must-haves below. Thanks for reading!
