URBAN DECAY: Afterglow Highlighter Palette

Get it on. Glow. Repeat.

As a makeup magpie and lover of anything shiny, I thought it was about time to update my personal highlighter collection. Though I definitely have enough already, I can't resist anything that looks good in my collection and on my face. Meet Afterglow.

Described by Urban Decay as a 'lightweight (yet luxurious) feel and a super-soft, creamy texture', this formula is unlike anything in my collection. The powders are so buttery and smooth, without any hint of a chunky fallout in sight. It's worth mentioning that I do have the Naked Illuminated in Luminous and Aura; in terms of finish, performance and texture the two products are so different I wouldn't even try to compare them. Also, can we talk about that packaging?! I'm a total sucker for mother of pearl, so this is obviously a bonus. I'm in love!

I really wanted to challenge myself with this palette, as it's so rare for me as a pale gal to get tons of use from a palette like this. My favourite shade by far is Bliss, purely because it fits my skin tone best. Champagne perfection in a powder. I'm also really loving Peroxide as a wash of blush for those low-maintenance days, and today I've dabbed a little in my inner corner to complement the Naked 3 palette perfectly. NSFW and Side Piece work really well when mixed to enhance Bronzer on fair skin; I'd recommend just using NSFW alone for this on deeper skins.

I've also swatched the shades with my finger and with a Bronzer brush for a true indication of payoff, both without flash and with:

Top: without flash | Bottom: with flash

Bliss | Peroxide

NSFW | Side Piece

If you want to check it out for yourself, Afterglow is getting incredible reviews on the Urban Decay website. The palette retails for £27, and can be found at any Urban Decay stockist.

Do you need another palette? Probably not. Do you need this one? Definitely.
