This week, I wanted to write about my kit. Or, more importantly, my recent refill haul. Although I don't freelance nearly as much as I would love to, I have an upcoming change of circumstance which hopefully will give me the push I need to freelance more! Since it's been a few years, and trends have massively changed, I thought it would be a fab time to restock my favourites!

First up was a trip to MAC, where I mostly focused on the items I'd be using for every client. This meant bronzers, highlighters, and skincare. My favourite bronzers from MAC, by far, are the Mineralize Skin Finish Natural (£24.50). They just buff and glide onto the skin in such a unique, buttery way! I picked up the shades Medium Golden, Medium Tan, Dark Golden and Give Me Sun! as these are my favourite kit shades with a wide shade range. My highlighters of choice were the Extra Dimension Skinfinish (£24.50). They're not as glittery or chunky as the MSF illuminators, even though Soft and Gentle will forever hold a place in my heart, but they give an effortless buildable glow with one swipe. I picked up Double Gleam, Oh Darling!, Beaming Blush and Superb as again, they are shades to suit all skin tones. For skincare, it was the fantastic all-rounders of Lightful C Softening Lotion (£20), Fix+ (£18) and Strobe Cream (£25) in Goldlite. This must be my tenth bottle of Fix+, the stuff is heaven sent! I love to use it before application to hydrate, mid application to mix with products for a more intense payoff and after application to refresh and revive skin. Being a humectant spray, it just doesn't evaporate like a water spray would. I bloody love the stuff! A couple of extra pieces I picked up were Pearlglide Liners (£14.50) in Undercurrent and Industrial, Extra Dimension Eyeshadow (£16) in Smoky Mauve, Pro Pan Shadows (£10) in Rule and Coral and Sized To Go Lipglasses (£10) in Water Deities, Fashion Punch and Little Lovely. At this point, I decided it was time to go!

Just a quick hop and skip away from MAC was Illamasqua, so I nipped in out of curiosity. I was mindful that I was already sort of breaking the bank, plus I was bitter about not being a student anymore (wah). As a makeup artistry student, I signed up for the Illamasqua Pro Student programme, entitling me to a small discount. When I checked out, the assistant told me that as my Pro Student membership had expired, my membership had automatically been bumped up to Pro Artist! I felt a little less guilty about picking up four Pure Pigments (£17.50) in the shades Ore, Alluvium, Android and Fervent, particularly after I got a sample of Hydra Veil too! I've always been a lover of Illamasqua, in particular their Pure Pigments. They are so sparkly and beautiful!

After Illamasqua, I picked up the Too Faced Sweet Peach palette (£39, Debenhams) as I'm definitely loving peachier tones for spring and summer. My sister has actually had this palette for a little while now and since we don't live together anymore, it's really difficult to nick her stuff. I just had to get it for myself! I can't get enough of that incredible peachy scent, and I can see all the shades being really beautiful from day to night. A total winner that I can't wait to play with.

I'm so excited to experiment with all my new goodies, and more importantly get back into freelancing! Here's to the future!
